The Burton-Middlefield Rotary and the Rotary Foundation have each awarded a $2500 in funding to the Foundation for Geauga Parks for nature education in Geauga County. The $5000 will fund programs for local children and youth like Nature Scopes (hands on nature education for fifth graders), Conservation Scholarships (for high school seniors pursuing careers related to nature and the environment) and Transportation Grants (helping schools fund bus transportation to local parks for educational programming).

The Burton-Middlefield Rotary's mission is to provide local and global service, guided by Rotary International's principles, by bringing together community leaders to support youth, promote education aid veterans, help those in crisis and contribute to world understanding, all while fundraising through events like the Maple Splash Raffle. They focus on "Service Above Self," tackling issues like poverty, health, and education through hands-on projects and financial support.
