It was a beautiful day for the UH Geauga Community Wellness Trail Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on October 14. After some words from hospital officials, the ribbon was cut and attendees participated in a ceremonial walk on the trail.

The trailheads can be accessed via the parking lot next to the UH Geauga Cancer Center (off of Ravenwood Drive). The 0.8 mile Community Wellness Center features mature trees, a level, finished walking path, a 0.5 mile cut-through and terrific views. The Foundation is proud to provide $50K over 5 years to develop this trail to promote wellness through connection to nature.

The project was made possible through community donations, including contributions from Dr. Gregory Stefano, director of the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute at UH Geauga Medical Center and the William and Eleanor Veverka Semenik Chair in Interventional Cardiology, the Patterson family, the Foundation for Geauga Parks, the Unto Others Foundation and other local donors.
