The Foundation for Geauga Parks is proud to sponsor the Geauga Park District's Nature Writing Contest again in 2026.

The contest focuses on nature-inspired poetry and prose submitted by creative writers of any age. The Foundation is funding $450 in prizes for the winners in each category. Winners will be honored at a celebration in July that includes a public reading, and the prose and poetry pieces will be published on the website and in the Geauga Park District (GPD) summer activity guide sent to 43,000 households in Geauga County.
The Foundation partners with the GPD in many ways, with work focused on connecting people with nature. The Nature Writing Contest fits this goal by inspiring others to explore and appreciate nature and the natural spaces we have in Geauga County.
The 2026 Application is now online and can be found on the GPD website. Entries are due on Wednesday, April 22.
