About the event
A Geauga Park District naturalist guides this 2 to 3 mile hike in old growth forest with scenic views of East Branch Reservoir. The trail is wide and graveled, and we may walk segments on natural surface paths and on the Maple Highlands Trail blacktop.
Know Before You Go
Distance of Walk | Hike: 2-3 miles
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Trail Conditions: Gravel trails and natural terrain
Footwear & Clothing: Dress for the weather and wear footwear for hiking. Ticks are active this time of year - to help protect yourself you may want to wear light colored clothing, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
Dogs & Pets: Well socialized four-legged friends on a leash are welcome.
What to Bring: Water is recommended for all excursions. Depending on the program, you may also wish to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, walking poles, or a small day pack.
Parking: Parking is at the south entrance 13365 SR 608 in the main paved lot, a short drive into the park.
Additional Notes: Excursions take place in natural outdoor settings. Conditions may change due to weather, trail conditions, wildlife activity, or other site-specific factors. Foundation staff or excursion leaders may adjust the route or program as needed for participant safety and resource protection.
